TMN’s QR/Barcode Payment Services Adopted by Aisin Corp.’s Shared Transportation Service “Choisoko”
Contributing to Regional Revitalization by Improving Convenience for Vulnerable Shoppers
Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN) has started providing its QR/barcode payment service to Choisoko, a shared transportation service provided by Aisin Corporation (Aisin).
TMN believes that by providing QR/barcode payments in addition to the credit and e-cash that have been provided for some time, it will contribute to improve the convenience of Choisoko that supports vulnerable shoppers and help revitalize the local economy.
Responding to the Diverse Payment Needs of Each Region and Contributing to the Population Flow Revitalization
Since its opening in 2018, Choisoko has been introduced in 83 municipalities and supports the daily life of residents, especially during the current situation of decline in regional public transportation due to population decline and driver shortages, while the number of vulnerable shoppers increase in both depopulated regions as well as urban regions due to elderly residents voluntarily surrendering their driver's licenses.
Stores have become stops for Choisoko because local retail businesses such as supermarkets and pharmacies sponsor Choisoko as a support for vulnerable shoppers.
Making QR/barcodes available to use for Choisoko will not only improve convenience for Choisoko users who use QR/barcode payments for shopping, but also leads to attracting customers and increasing sales for sponsoring businesses.
TMN's service is cloud-based, and it is easy to add payment methods and payment brands even for payment terminals that have already been adopted and used, and it is possible to flexibly respond to the payment needs of each region where Choisoko has service.
TMN began providing TMN's UT-P10 payment terminal and e-cash payment service to Choisoko in 2022 and has responded to the diversification of payment needs associated with Choisoko's service expansion, including the addition of credit card payment services and e-cash brands in 2023.
TMN has been expanding its services mainly to retail businesses such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and pharmacies, but is now also focusing on the transportation field as well. TMN will continue to promote initiatives in the transportation area and believes that the improvement of payment convenience will contribute to the population flow revitalization and further contribute to the creation of sustainable local communities.
